Transition-to-Practice Nurse Residency – SMC
New nurses are automatically enrolled in a tailored pathway. Get one-to-one preceptor orientation on your hiring unit, mentorship and support, with more than 500 hours of training in your first 14 weeks.
Pelham Medical Center Nurse Residency Program
The Pelham Medical Center Nurse Residency Program uses leading industry standards to support the transition from graduate RN to bedside nurse. This comprehensive, 12-month nurse residency program includes:
• precepted clinical time
• didactic classroom learning
• an evidence-based project
• rotations on units intertwined with the graduate registered nurse's clinical unit
RNs hired by Pelham Medical Center are automatically enrolled in the nurse residency program if they have less than 12 months of experience in an acute care setting. During that time, they’ll work with members of the healthcare team, acquire knowledge and skills essential to the provision of safe, evidence-based care, and learn about the mission and vision of Spartanburg Regional and Pelham Medical Center.

Staffing Response Team
SRHS has expanded its nursing resource pool to allow for a system-wide Staffing Response Team. Leveraging this type of staffing model provides a consistent resource of highly skilled, flexible, and competent nursing associates to move among SRHS facilities support a variety of nursing units.
